To honor the legend's World Cup victory in Qatar, an Argentine farmer has created a massive 124-acre portrait of Lionel Messi.
Throughout the competition, Messi put on a streak of outstanding performances that propelled Argentina to World Cup triumph.
After a difficult and exciting penalty shootout against France, they prevailed.
Farmer Maximiliano Spinazze made the decision to plant a specifically crafted cornfield in order to grow a representation of Messi as a way to commemorate this historic accomplishment.
In his field in Los Condores, which is located in Argentina's central Cordoba province, Spinazze utilized an algorithm to determine where seeds should be put.
The consequence was the appearance of a massive image of Messi's face, which is supposedly visible from space.
"Now that they are world champions, I am thrilled that this can be communicated by growing the crop," Spinazze added.
The agricultural engineer who created the code for the seed-sowing machinery that caused Messi's face to appear on the field described the process.
"I got the notion to develop a code that goes in the seeders with Messi's visage as a tribute," Carlos Faricelli stated.
The technology utilizes geocoding techniques to determine how much seed per square meter needs to be placed in specific locations to produce contrast for various areas of Messi's face.
So as this corn matures and an aerial photograph is taken, where the plants are closer together and the ground is less obvious, a more intense green contrasts with where there are fewer plants, and this is how this type of agricultural art is produced, the speaker added.
After the World Cup, Argentines other than Spinazze paid respect to Messi.
One supporter got the name of the Paris Saint-Germain player tattooed on his face, but he later admitted he regretted the ink.
Mike Jambs stated: "I regret getting the tattoo since it has brought me a lot of bad things, both myself and for my family, rather than good."
