Xavi Hernandez's team has advanced to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals thanks to Barcelona's superb 5-0 victory over AD Ceuta on Thursday night.

Barca will be seeking to add a second domestic cup competition to their trophy tally this season after previously winning the Spanish Super Cup, which was secured with a dominant performance against Real Madrid on Sunday evening in Riyadh.
The Copa will be necessary to accomplish the La Liga leaders' goal of a domestic triple.

All lower league teams were eliminated in the round of 16, meaning that Barca will play a fellow La Liga team in the quarterfinal round. They might compete against Real Sociedad, who are currently having a tremendous season.
Sevilla has had a terrible season so far, but they could be an opponent after defeating LaLiga2 team Alaves on Tuesday night.

The teams Valencia, Athletic Club, and Osasuna are all probable opponents for Xavi's team in the subsequent Copa round.
In a similar vein, Atletico Madrid might come up against Antoine Griezmann, an ex-player.
Memphis Depay, who is expected to transfer from Barcelona to Atleti, would be cup-tied due to his earlier matchup with Intercity CF.

If Los Blancos win their game against Villarreal on Thursday night, they might face Barcelona. Another probable opponent for Los Blancos is Real Madrid.

Ceuta 0-5 Barcelona: Lewy, Fati & co send Barca into Copa del Rey last 8

Barcelona eased into the Copa del Rey quarter-finals by thrashing third-tier Ceuta on Thursday night.

Match Report

Third division Ceuta almost made it to the break goalless but Raphinha's 41st-minute strike opened the scoring and paved the way for a manita.

Robert Lewandowski added two goals after the break and Ansu Fati and Franck Kessie were also on target for Xavi Hernandez's side.

After beating Real Madrid in the Supercopa final on Sunday, Xavi made 10 changes to his XI, with only Lewandowski keeping his place -- the Polish striker is banned for the next two league games.

A nutritional first half was controlled by Barca but there were few real chances until Raphinah's fine effort from 18 yards curled into the bottom corner just before the break.

Lewandowski added the second in the 50th minute and substitute Ansu scored the third in the 70th minute with a brilliant individual goal.

Kessie headed in the fourth from Raphinha's cross and Lewandowski completed the scoring late on with a pinpoint finish inside the box.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice in the second half, either side of goals from Ansu Fati and Franck Kessie, with Raphinha having put the visitors ahead before the interval.
