Michael Olise's incredible stoppage-time free kick gave Crystal Palace a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park, ending Manchester United's nine-game winning streak. After Bruno Fernandes' first-half goal, Erik ten Hag's team was on track to finish second in the Premier League standings.

But Olise's late goal leaves them eight points behind leaders Arsenal on Sunday and without their star midfielder Casemiro, who will be sidelined after receiving his fifth caution of the year late on.

Wout Weghorst, making his United debut, came close to scoring for his new team but misjudged a header in the first half, and David De Gea made an outstanding save to prevent the hosts from going up.

Just before halftime, Fernandes gave the visitors the lead, and until Olise equalized, United were on track to win its 10th straight game overall.

The home defense restrained the in-form Marcus Rashford, who had scored in all seven games since returning from the World Cup before to the match, as United early on dominated possession but failed to produce clear-cut chances.

By the ten-minute mark, the visitors had only managed a single shot from Fernandes, which Vicente Guaita dangerously spilled before his defenders cleared. Marc Guehi did well to stop the England forward from converting a risky run into an opening goal.

Luke Shaw came close to starting the scoring but his powerful shot went just wide of Guaita's right post. Meanwhile, United escaped a scare when Lisandro Martinez appeared to be elbowed and lay on the field while receiving medical attention.

He put on a band over his head and went back to work after being given the all-clear. When he rose to meet Luke Shaw's cross from the left, Weghorst came dangerously close to scoring for United, but he headed just wide of the crossbar.

Rashford's wide-flying free kick in the 39th minute gave United another opportunity to score. When Olise connected with Odsonne Edouard, the Eagles were just inches from taking the lead. Edouard aimed his shot toward the top left corner, but De Gea made a spectacular leaping save to get his fingertips on the ball before it hit the crossbar.

Soon after, the visitors took the lead when Fernandes, who had been found by Christian Eriksen, took a touch before finishing a well-executed move past Guaita in the 44th minute.

A pitch invader took advantage of the pause created by Patrick Vieira's initial substitution of Eberechi Eze for Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 56th minute and managed to make it as far as midfield, where he appeared to take a photo with Casemiro before finally being removed off the field.

When Chris Richards stopped Scott McTominay's run, United demanded a penalty, but a VAR check spared the home team's blushes. Later, Palace launched an assault, and De Gea stopped Guehi's weak header.

Olise flicked a pass to Nathaniel Clyne, who sent a cross into the six-yard box that eluded all of his teammates, as the hosts continued to press for an equalizer.

Prior to being cautioned for a challenge on Wilfried Zaha in the 80th minute, Casemiro had escaped punishment. The hosts' problems appeared to end there until Olise expertly curled a free kick into the top corner.
