Bayern Munich monitoring Chelsea star in £50m deal as Todd Boehly considers summer fire sale

Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing Chelsea star Kai Havertz as a possible summer move.

Havertz has been a real splitter of opinion since joining Stanford He Bridge in 2020. He scored the winning goal in his 2020/21 Champions League final but feels like he hasn't lived up to his potential.

Havertz has scored 29 goals in his 118 games for Chelsea. He has been used in a variety of roles, including being used as number 9 or number 10 on the wings and center. Graham Potter has often relied on Havertz, who has started 16 times in the Premier League this season. He has scored five goals in the league alongside Raheem Sterling, Chelsea's top scorer this season.

According to Sky Germany, FC Bayern Munich are monitoring Havertz's situation at Chelsea very closely and are considering a move in the summer.

The German side is said to be willing to pay between £35m and £52m for the forward. Chelsea have signed Havertz for £72m in 2020. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski in the summer, FC Bayern Munich need another striker. It is also linked to the transfer of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Eric Maxim ChupoHis moting has led the Bayern line so far this season, with him scoring 11 goals in all competitions. The change could make sense for Havertz, who is looking for his next striker.

In the Bundesliga, the German striker scored 36 goals in his 118 appearances for Bayer at his Leverkusen. His highest scoring season was the 2018/19 season, when he scored 17 goals in the league.

Some stars may leave in the summer

Alongside Havertz, several other Chelsea stars face uncertain futures at the club. Chelsea have invested heavily since the arrival of Todd Bawley and are likely to sell some big names in the summer.
