According to the president's attorney, the FBI investigated President Joe Biden's house in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday and discovered additional documents marked as confidential as well as taking some of his handwritten notes into their possession.

The FBI entered the president's residence of his own will, but the fact that a search warrant was not obtained did not lessen the search's unusual character. The president's attorneys revealed on January 12 that they had discovered a "small number" of classified records at a former office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., just before the midterm elections. This embarrassed Biden, and it made matters worse. Attorneys later discovered six classified documents from Biden's stint as vice president in his Wilmington home library.

Although Biden has insisted that "there's no there there," the revelations have become a political problem as he gets ready to run for reelection and they undermine his attempts to present the American people with a picture of decorum following the turbulent

According to Bob Bauer, the president's personal attorney, the FBI removed six items from the almost 13-hour-long search on Friday that contained documents marked as being classified. The objects were from Biden's time in the Senate and his time as vice president, while the notes were from that period, he claimed. While the Justice Department evaluates the materials, it is not yet apparent what level of classification there was or whether the documents that the FBI deleted were still secret.

Joseph Fitzpatrick, an assistant US attorney, revealed on Saturday that the FBI had carried out "a planned, agreed search" of the president's home in Wilmington.

When the house was searched, neither the president nor the first lady, Jill Biden, were there. They were staying at their residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for the weekend.

The vice president said he was "totally cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved fast" while speaking to reporters on a trip to California on Thursday.

Biden remarked, "We discovered a few documents were filed in the incorrect location. "We promptly gave them to the Justice Department and the Archives."

If federal agents searched other places, it remained to be seen if they would do so in the future. Prior to conducting a search of the Rehoboth Beach home, Biden's private attorneys reported that they had not discovered any official records or secret information.

The Justice Department's inquiry into Trump's retention of confidential information and official records after he left office has also been clouded by the Biden investigation. The Justice Department claims that Trump refused months of requests to return hundreds of documents marked classified after leaving the White House in early 2021, and that it needed a search warrant to recover them.

White House and Biden's personal attorneys were there, according to Bauer, who also claimed that the FBI had asked them not to remark on the search before it was carried out. The FBI "had complete access to the President's house, including personally handwritten notes, files, papers, binders, memorabilia, to-do lists, schedules, and reminders going back decades," the official continued.

He continued, "The Justice Department took possession of materials it considered within the scope of its investigation, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President's service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President."

Former Maryland U.S. Attorney Robert Hur has been appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland as a special counsel to look into any possible illegality involving the Biden documents. Hur will take over managing the investigation from John Lausch, the Illinois U.S. Attorney who was chosen by Trump.

White House attorney Richard Sauber stated on Saturday that "the President has been committed to handling this responsibly from the outset because he takes this seriously." "To ensure that this process is carried out quickly and effectively, the President's attorneys and the White House Counsel's Office will continue to work with DOJ and the Special Counsel."
