UEFA will reportedly close a 'loophole' that Chelsea exploited by signing a long-term deal in the January transfer window.

The Bruce has signed a staggering six of his players this month. David Datro Fofana, Andrei Santos, Benoît Badiacil, Mudryk and Noni Madueke are all on permanent transfer, while João Felix is ??on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea owner Todd is keen to support manager Graham Potter after a poor start to the season as the club finished 10th in the Premier League. is in the distribution of payments. Mudryk, for example, signed the longest contract in English football history when he signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract. So, according to UEFA's FFP calculations, his £80m fee would put him at £9.41m.

According to The Times, that will change in the coming months. European football governing bodies will introduce a maximum five-year period for payment of transfer fees. The new policy is expected to be rolled out before the summer transfer window. FIFA rules stipulate that contracts must continue for a maximum of five years, unless national law provides for an extension. There are currently no restrictions in the UK.

Chelsea are not prevented from spreading the cost of paying players who have already signed.

Datro Fofana and Badiasil have contracts for seven and a half years and six and a half years respectively. Wesley Fofana, who joined from Leicester City in the summer, is on a seven-year contract: "This just puts the problem into the future. Clubs are either stuck with a high-paid player they can't sell, or if they sell him after 3 or 4 years they won't make much profit (accountingly) because a lot of fees haven't been collected. ."

Potter admitted earlier this month that Chelsea's problems cannot be solved by jumping into the market at every opportunity.Potter also said he does not have the final say on earnings. After Saturday's 0-0 draw with Liverpool, he explained:

"I don't think it's so easy to say they're mine.

"It's very difficult for a head coach to control those goals and have a list of players who are 'yours'.

"I think my role is to support the club, which is a recruiting team and an ownership group, in matters such as transfers, the day-to-day environment, and winning matches.

"This is a club and we are trying to win together as a club. I'm influential in everything, but I'm not the type to sit in a room and decide everything.
