After 18 minutes, Teemu Pukki drove to the byline and squared for Sargent to score Norwich's third goal off of Sara's deft outside-of-the-foot pass. Nearly instantly, a response was given. Jake Bidwell deflected Palmer's deep cross into the path of Allen, who volleyed into the top corner to cut the deficit.
Eight minutes after Coventry found themselves three goals down, Palmer, who had contributed significantly to the opening goal, trimmed the margin to one.
Viktor Gyokeres was set up by Norton-right-wing Cuffy's cross, and his careless touch unintentionally set up Palmer to side-foot his second goal in as many outings.
Hernandez was giving Coventry a lot of trouble with his left-side movement, and he was given a fantastic opportunity to give Norwich some breathing room once more but could only lift his attempt over the crossbar.
Hernandez almost gave the Canaries a similar start to the second half as he dug out an inviting cross for Max Aarons at the back post. Aarons then nearly doubled his tally.
Dowell got the last word when he gave Norwich some breathing room once more by latching onto a cut-back from former Sky Blue Sam McCallum and hammering in a fourth. Both Pukki and Allen squandered good opportunities to add to the score in the closing minutes.
