Liverpool may well be in talks with an unlikely midfield star over a January move to Anfield.
The Reds have struggled this season and find themselves in ninth, in part thanks to a dysfunctional midfield. Fabinho, Stefan Bajcetic, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Arthur Melo, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho are all options – though many have either been injured or out of form this term.

Liverpool have struggled this season - and midfield causing problems
Ryan Gravenberch's agent Rafaela Pimenta was in attendance for the weekend's goalless draw with Chelsea at Anfield, according to Liverpool Echo (opens in new tab). The Dutch star joined Bayern Munich in the summer, but although he hasn't played regularly, rumors linked to the transfer are few and far between.
A more likely link could be that another Pimenta client, Denzel Dumfries, is rumored to be on Chelsea's radar.
Gravenberch is only 20 years old but has a wealth of experience in his midfield trio since his days at Ajax. Undoubtedly an optional upgrade for many of Liverpool's midfield, he offers a sort of physical and technical security crop value in midfield.
Assistant coach Pep Linders' influence has clearly increased with the arrival of his compatriot Cody Gakpo, so Gravenberg will increase the Dutch contingent to Melwood at least through the summer.

According to Pimenta's client list, other possible options would be Xabi Simmons, Dumfries or Donyell Malen. Gravenberch is valued at €30 million by Transfermarkt (opens in new tab).
