The Arsenal striker was caught on film announcing his return to Khabib Nurmagomedov
Gabriel Jesus hopes to return to Arsenal in a month or so. But things are not going on well as planned.
A knee injury has kept the Brazilian out of action since the World Cup and he underwent surgery in early December with talks of a three-month break.
This period proves the overestimation of Jesus' return after he was filmed talking to UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov about his recovery. The Russian player visited the Emirates Stadium for Sunday's win over Manchester United and met Jesus by posting clips of their discussion on Instagram.
Jesus can be heard in the video: "Maybe four or five weeks, then we'll be back." Gabriel Jesus will miss the chance to meet his formal club Manchester City due to an injury. Arsenal will be playing against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
Although the exact context of the clip has not been confirmed by either Arsenal or the player, fans online are optimistic that it refers to his return from injury.
Such a schedule means Jesus will be back in a Gunners shirt ahead of the March international break with a trip to Leicester on February 25. A week later, Arsenal then hosts Bournemouth in the Premier League with a potential FA Cup fifth-round draw.
In Jesus' absence, Eddie Nketiah followed up with four goals, including a brace in Sunday's dramatic 3-2 win against United that put the capital club five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table. Even without Jesus, Arsenal is still moving on with flying colors after recording a win against all the teams that they will face.
Even though Gabriel Jesus is sidelined due to an injury but I don't think Arsenal are missing their target man too much because they are still performing without him on the pitch
