Famous Teacher Kojo Writes
I fell in love with teaching because I realized my fellow “BLACK PEOPLE’s”(learners) knowledge rested on my shoulders.
I decided to do all that I can to help my “BLACK PEOPLE” to achieve something better.
I did not consider teaching as a ”JOB” but rather as a “Senior brother helping his junior siblings”.
I spent a lot of my OWN money on them just to see them in a good position.(books, footwear, uniforms, feeding etc..)
As a teacher,I couldn’t stand the sight of seeing them looking *wretched* and having no books to learn so I had to sacrifice all the time. I felt sad whenever I saw them in poor conditions.
Many people thought I was doing it for publicity so I got hated for it.
They didn’t understand my doings because my reasons and thoughts were different from theirs.(Aho?yaafo? no).
I realized I was developing a strong passion for teaching and couldn’t keep mute about their *suffering* so I decided to come out and speak because I couldn’t stand the sight of my fellow black siblings being treated as *SLAVES* through Formal education by their own BLACK LEADERS!
In college of education(AKROKERRI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION),I was taught that, learners are supposed to feel happy whenever they are in school in other for them to be able to grasp whatever they are going to be taught, but what I saw as a teacher was the opposite.
The questions I kept asking myself in my head are…
“Why are the BLACKMEN(leaders) treating their own BLACK PEOPLE(learners) like this? ?”
?Can’t they see they are their own people? ?
Majority of Ghanaians who vote are the people whose children patronize the GOVERNMENT BASIC SCHOOLS,so if the educational lives of these children are being played with, then how are we developing this country?
Through PRAYERS maybe. ?
I am not speaking to the so-called *LEADERS*. I am speaking to you the “Ordinary” Ghanaian.
I am not speaking to your EARS.
I am speaking to your BRAIN.
