Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo could return to the Premier League in the future after his manager from Al Nassr spoke about his transfer plans.

Ronaldo joined Manchester United in sensational style in August 2021 when they paid Juventus £12.8m to bring him back to Old Trafford. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner had a successful debut season at Man Utd, scoring 24 goals in 38 appearances.

However, Ronaldo's future at Man Utd is threatened in the summer of 2022 when Erik ten Hag becomes the new head coach. He's not sure the team relies on the 37-year-old that much and wants to help other players improve. As such, Ronaldo has lost the starting position, instead, Ten Hag chose to rely on strikers such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Antony.

Ronaldo, predictably, became extremely frustrated with spending so much time on the bench and gave an explosive interview to reveal his problems. He complains about Ten Hag, some of his fellow Man Utd players, and the club's hierarchy.

At this stage it was clear that he could not continue as a Man Utd player and both sides canceled his contract in November.

Although he wanted to join a Champions League club from Man Utd, the legendary goalscorer ended up going to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. He has made two appearances for them so far, although he is yet to score a goal.

Ronaldo's contract with Al Nassr runs until June 2025. Given his age, this could mean he will retire in the Middle East.

Fully backed Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Europe

However, in a surprising twist, Al Nassr boss Rudi Garcia has now said that Ronaldo wants to return to Europe.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition because he helps disperse defenders,” Garcia told reporters during the press conference (via talkSPORT). "He's one of the best players in the world. He's not going to end his career at Al Nassr, he's going back to Europe.

When he returns to Europe from Al Nassr, Ronaldo will likely join a Premier League side. After all, he knew the division well and had lived in England twice before.

Furthermore, he has spoken with Chelsea and Manchester City to join their respective teams in recent years.

However, it is clear that Ronaldo will never play for Man Utd again, as long as Ten Hag is in charge. Ten Hag was not impressed with Ronaldo's controversial interview and did everything to get the player to leave the club as soon as possible.

It would be a fairy tale end to Ronaldo's career if he went to Paris Saint-Germain and side with Lionel Messi. They have been longtime rivals since their days at Real Madrid and Barcelona, ??as well as their challenges for the Ballon d'Or.

It would be great to see two of the greatest players of all time play on the same team, even though they are past their prime.
