Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer popularly know as Appietus has showered praises on Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo fosu popularly known as Daddy Lumba (Dl).
Appietus is well known sound engineer who have over the years produced bigger hit songs such as “sei ho mame, Azonto fiesta, kuntuminu, mujebaya, bosu kena, and among others. He also worked with top acts like Daddy Lumba, ofori amponsa and others.
Speaking in an interview on Kumasi based FM station Pure Fm revealed that, upon all the work he has done, Daddy Lumba is the only artist that paid him huge amount of cash for his work done. He added that, Daddy Lumba paid him that amount after working together with him and showed him how lucrative the music industry was.
Going forward he revealed, at the start of his career, money was not his main aim, he wanted to sell himself to the world. In his own words he revealed the following;
“Daddy Lumba was the first artiste to give me a substantial amount of money in my career. He came to the studio and we had a discussion, afterwards, he went out and brought a jute back saying he had brought me drinks.
I carried the bag home without checking the content. The following day, my wife asked me if i won’t send the money to the bank so I got confused. Then she told me the bag i brought was filled with cash. You know when we started it wasn’t about the money but rather it was about the talent,” he said.
These accolades made by Appietus has sparked conversations online making people disagree with gospel musician Great Ampong’s argument about Daddy Lumba being a deceitful and greedy person.
Ampong and Daddy Lumba are on each others tail after the later claimed the legendary highlife musician decided not to give him his cut of money earned from project they both worked on.
