Dembele out for over a month: aims to return for El Clasico

The game against Girona was difficult for Barcelona. They won 0-1 but Xavi had to pay with the injury of Ousmane Dembele. 'Mr. Mosquito' has undergone tests and they show he has a thigh problem.

Although 'Tiempo de Juego' says he could be sidelined for three weeks, 'Mundo Deportivo' believes it could be worse - Barcelona could be without him for around five weeks, more than a month.

The paper claims that Dembele will therefore miss the Europa League knockout tie against United. After the defeat in the Champions League group stage, the Catalan side will do it all in other European leagues and the French's elimination will be a huge blow.

'Mundo Deportivo' reports that Dembele's injury is serious. He will have to rest and above all not risk getting himself injured again. Either way, injury depends on each player. The French doctors and players will have to decide when he will return. According to this source, Dembele's goal is to be completely fit for the El Clasico match on March 19 at Camp Nou. As a result, he will miss matches against Betis, Sevilla, Villarreal, Cadiz and Almeria, as well as the already mentioned match against United in the Europa League. England will also not be able to play in the Copa del Rey semi-final, and Barca will know their fate this Monday.

Therefore, Dembele will only play in mid-March. He is a doubt for the match against Valencia, scheduled for March 5. He could be back in that game or against Athletic Bilbao a week later. Xavi considered using someone to replace him, even though he knew it would give him more headaches.
