Nigerian singer Rema sets new record in the history of afrobeat with his song titled “calm down”. Rema is a Nigerian afrobeat artist signed under the Nigerian record label MAVINS which is owned by entertainment guru and beat producer Don Jazzy.


Rema released his debut studio album dubbed “Rave & Roses” in 2022 and calm down was one of the songs recorded on the album. The song was released on the 11th of February 2022 by jonzing world and Mavin. The music video of the song was released on YouTube 11 months ago and has surpassed a whopping 355 million views making it the biggest record in the history of afrobeat.


Rema didn’t stop there after the release of the song which skyrocketed his music career. He went ahead to  feature and do a remix of the original song with American songstress Selena Gomez. The video which was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Selena Gomez has also earned a whopping 261 million views on YouTube.


By far “calm down” is Rema’s biggest song since his career began. He has other nationwide hit such as “ginger me, Dumebi, bounce, fame, beamer, and many more.


Applauds are coming in for the afrobeat artist on his new achievement as an afrobeat musician. He is also notable for filling arenas. He recently went on “Rave & Roses” world tour and it was an eye saw as he kept on thrilling fans. At a point Rema had an iconic moment where he paused and the whole crowd sang his song “calm down word for word.


On twitter, Rema is currently trending with fans cheering him up for his hardworking skills and dedication towards his musical career and of course for setting such a huge record which would be difficult to break by any artist in the coming years as new afrobeat artists emerges every single year.
