Messi acknowledges regretting his actions in the Netherlands-Argentina World Cup victory

In his first interview since winning the World Cup, Lionel Messi acknowledged that he might not have been the perfect role model during Argentina's quarterfinal match against the Netherlands.

Immediately following his second goal, when he cupped his ears and stood defiantly glaring at Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, Messi caused controversy. It was an allusion to the cartoon mouse named "Topo Gigio," who gave Juan Roman Riquelme his moniker.

Van Gaal famously kicked Riquelme out of Barcelona because the two did not get along while he and the Dutchman were there.

Messi said it wasn't his best performance in an interview with Andy Kusnetzoff that was broadcast on MD.

"In actuality, I didn't prepare it," I did not enjoy it. It suddenly surfaced, and yes, I was aware of what he had stated before the game. On purpose, some of my teammates asked me, "Did you see what he said?" We won 2-0, but I subsequently regret what I said and did when I yelled "Off you go, dumb" [anda pa' 'lla bobo]. There is a lot of strain and anxiety during these times, and you don't have time to stop and think about anything. There was no strategy;

When Messi spotted Dutch forward Wout Weghorst, he ordered him emphatically to keep pushing. He also went back to that time.

"Everything that came out was natural; that athlete had experienced a lot on the pitch, as well as in reality and a few other situations. When there are conflicts, friction, and heated exchanges during a game, the referee also feels the heat. The game had just ended and I was in the mixed area. And I'm aware that there are numerous options currently.

Clasico Cup! In the Copa del Rey semifinal, Barcelona and Real Madrid will clash.

Following Monday's draw, Barcelona and Real Madrid will play each other in the Copa del Rey semifinal.

The return match will take place at Camp Nou, while the first leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The other semifinal matchup pits Athletic Club against Osasuna, with the former playing first at home.

The RFEF had to change the dates of the semifinal matches due to Madrid's participation in the Club World Cup.

The opening legs will be played on either February 28 or March 1 or 2, and the second legs on April 4, 5, or 6.
