Javier Tebas is waging a "smear campaign" against President Laporta of Barcelona
Barcelona and La Liga have been at odds over several topics for a while, but it seems like the conflict is intensifying. An educated source claims that La Liga President Javier Tebas is planning to discredit Barcelona President Joan Laporta by leaking information about him.
Barcelona believes they have been unfairly treated by the league compared to other teams because of the Superleague, the CVC deal, and the salary caps imposed by La Liga.
Tebas and Laporta have a rocky relationship, whereas Josep Maria Bartomeu, his predecessor, generally got along well with La Liga's president.
Before anyone else in Spain last summer, La Portera de Nunez tweeted the following observation about Kylian Mbappe staying at Paris Saint-Germain.
It has been stated, remarked upon, and rumored that La Liga (whatever, Tebas) is searching for a "friend" to spill the beans on a purported controversy involving Mr. Laporta. You get a slander campaign if you refuse to sign Very Clear Blackmail.
“In the same way, now Tebas has been spotted supporting articles against the current management of the club,
avoiding bringing up the fact that the club's economic decline and collapse for a decade had received approval. And now all of a sudden, the alertness is increased?
The articles being discussed are the promotion of Marcal Llorente's Mundo Deportivo piece, which defends La Liga against claims that it treated Barcelona harshly.
Since it has already been demonstrated that Llorente got hundreds of thousands of euros in payments from Barcelona itself, under Bartomeu, he is a contentious figure in the Barcelona media landscape. These payments were made to make sure that various characters were portrayed favorably or unfavorably in line with Bartomeu's preferences.
Llorente has frequently insulted Laporta in the past and is also in charge of screening player contracts.
Tebas' promotion of a piece he wrote about the league is a clear indication of his position on Laporta. If material on Laporta is to be filtered shortly, it would appear clear that Tebas is intent on bringing down the president of Barcelona. The fact that two of Spain's biggest institutions are willing to use such strategies demonstrates the breadth and pervasiveness of the political side of the game in that country.
