جو آج یہ شاخیں ویران اور خالی سی ہیں،
اب یہ بیج بھی سست پڑھ گیے ہیں اور لمبی نیند میں ہیں،
پتے زرد ہیں اور خزاں میں ہیں،
پنکھڑیوں کی مہک بھی اُداس ہے،
جڑیں سنِ رسیدہ ہیں، کیا اُداسی ہے،
کیسی اُداسی ہے جس نے میرے محبوب کی مٹھاس کو کڑوا بنا دیا؟
