A complete overview of Arsenal's transfer business over the last month
Premier League leaders Arsenal are desperate to maintain their title challenge with an active January transfer window.
Unwilling to risk elimination in the second half of the season, Mikel Arteta began strengthening his squad as the club looked to end their 19-year wait for a league title.
The Gunners signed three players, but that doesn't mean this month won't disappoint. Arsenal has been unable to sign Mykhailo Mudric or Moises Caicedo despite numerous offers for both, forcing them to make other decisions.
Ins:
Leandro Trossar-Brighton, Ł21 million
Jakub Kivior - Spezia, Ł20m
Jorginho-Chelsea, Ł12 million
Even without Mudric and Caicedo, Arsenal has strengthened at least two key areas. In the person of Trossard and Jorginho, they brought in ready-made Premier League players in hopes they could take off.
Kivior, meanwhile, offered Arteta the left center-back cover he is keen to sign.
end:
Brooke Norton-Cuffey - Coventry, loan
Miguel Aziz - Wigan, loan
Tom Smith - Colchester, Loan
Harry Clarke - Ipswich, undisclosed
Arthur Okonkwo - Sturm Graz, rent
Nathan Butler-Oyedeji - Accrington, loan

Marquinhos - Norwich, loan
Omar Rekic - Wigan, loan
Cedric Soares - Fulham, loan
Albert Sambi Lokonga - Crystal Palace, loan
Kido Taylor-Hart - Darby, loan
Billy Vigar - Darby, loan
Cedric Soares and Albert Sambi Lokonga are looking elsewhere for first-team football, a surprise as Arteta has consistently spoken of not having enough options – especially in midfield.
Arsenal sporting director Edu says new signing Jorginho brings "quality and experience" to their title-chasing squad.
Jorginho joined Arsenal from Chelsea on a surprise appointment day after the Gunners cooled their interest in Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The 31-year-old Italian does not fit into Arsenal's transfer strategy, which has focused on youth players in recent years.
However, manager Mikel Arteta believes Jorginho will bring "leadership qualities" which could be crucial as Arsenal looks to move away from Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
