The primary reason for club transfers is to bring in new players who will help them win more titles. These are the top ten clubs in terms of transfer spending since the turn of the century, as well as the UEFA Champions League titles won.
Chelsea is number one. Since 2000, the Blues have spent €3.008 billion on transfers. Since then, their most expensive signing has been Enzo Fernandez, who they signed for €121 million in January 2022. In the twenty-first century, the Blues have won two UEFA Champions League titles.
2. Manchester City - Since 2000, they have spent €2.510 billion on transfers. Their most expensive signing was Jack Grealish, who cost £100 million. The Citizens have never won the UEFA Champions League.
3. Barcelona - Since the turn of the century, they have spent €2.43 billion on transfers. In the twenty-first century, they have won four UEFA Champions League titles.
4. Juventus - Since 2000, the Italian club has spent €2.37 billion on transfers but has yet to win the UEFA Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined the club for €100 million in 2018, is their most expensive signing.
5. Real Madrid - Since 2000, they have spent €2.36 billion on transfers. Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, they have won seven UEFA Champions League titles. This clearly shows that their signings have been fruitful.

Phil Foden says his teammates don't understand his 'odd' hobby
Phil Foden claims that his fellow footballers, including teammates at Manchester City, don't really understand his 'odd hobby.'
On the football pitch, there are few players who have the ability to do what Foden does, when he's at his best, and even fewer of those who are 22-years-old.
Such is his brilliance, and potential to be even better, that it's been claimed that he is the Messiah, and even has more potential than Lionel Messi had, which may be a bit of a stretch.
Ahead of last year's World Cup, Foden did tell SPORTbible his performances in an England shirt could be better, and he certainly upped them during the tournament.
However, since returning from the tournament his form has dipped, which is something that Pep Guardiola actually predicted would happen.
Whilst the manager understands that part of the Stockport born forward's life, he may be one of several who doesn't get Foden's hobby of choice. On City's website, he revealed that he loves fishing, saying: "Probably about 95% of football boys don't enjoy fishing.
"Weirdos like fishing, and people who know it say this.
"What a strange sport you enjoy." They don't understand why you enjoy it.

The 22-year-old also revealed that his father taught him to fish from an early age, and the couple still revel in their pastimes.
In fact, according to Foden, they regularly cross Britain and Spain and set lines in new waters.
He missed the club's celebration when the club won the Premier League in 2018.
Foden has been injured in Guardiola's last two games, but could return for the weekend's win against Tottenham Hotspur. They are looking to deliver a big win to Antonio Conte's team and try to keep pressure on leaders Arsenal, but there are now increasing predictions that they will not be able to do so.
Win or lose, somewhere at the end of the season he'll find Foden fishing.
