Industry colleagues keeps throwing their weight behind celebrated rap icon Michael Owusu Addo better known as Sarkodie at this moment he’s bing receiving a lot of criticisms from fans and industry colleagues.
Few weeks ago Sarkodie was in the news after he collaborated with the late Bob Marley on his “Stir it up” music remix which was made possible by the management of the deceased. After the release of the song, fans began expressing exciting and love towards the project and congratulated the rapper for his hard work and dedication which earned him such a spot. Despite the praise it seems some of the industry mates were not happy about the whole thing hence started throwing shades at the rapper.
Few of such individuals Shatta wale, Yaa pono, Ayisha modi, Mr.logic and more. The most talked about criticism is that of Ghanaian musician and presenter Blakk Rasta who claimed Sarkodie is a one way artist and the management of the late Bob Marley should have never featured him. His comments has brought him a lot of hate with users and his fellow colleagues mocking and jabbing him.
The newest jab is from Ghanaian highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena and according to him Blakk Rasta’s opening do not matter and if it does the management of the late Bob Marley would have contacted him before bringing Sarkodie into the project.
“If his opinion was needed, they would have consulted him before they went to the studio. What’s important now is that Sarkodie has featured Bob Marley and so we should all support him. This negativity didn’t start today. They did it to Fuse ODG, Shatta Wale and now Sarkodie,” he said.
Blakk Rasta is yet to offer an apology to Sarkodie despite the constant backlash he has received these past few days. Although he may find nothing wrong with his utterances but fans and other colleagues suggests he retract his statement and praise Sarkodie rather than pulling him down.
