The executive director of the Tijaniyya Muslim Movement of Ghana, Alhaji Khuzaima Mohammed Osman, has urged the global community to lay the foundational pieces for combating religious fanaticism and extremism.

He added that every country in West Africa, including Ghana, is affected by the problem since religious fundamentalism is on the rise in Burkina Faso, Mali, Nigeria, Togo, and Niger.

In a telephone conversation with the Ghana News Agency, Alhaji Osman, who was in Washington, DC, for the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Summit, said that Ghana, a fairly peaceful nation in West Africa, must make a lot of effort to guarantee that the entire area is transformed.

According to him, such progress would eliminate the gap caused by religious fanaticism, equip young people with skills, and keep them occupied with activities that would improve their quality of life.

"It is perilous to sit in the middle of chaos and believe that you are at peace and safe," Alhaji Osman added. Ghana must collaborate with other parties to stop terrorism's infiltration and activity.

The sub-region is extremely unstable as a result of the regular terrorist attacks in practically all of its neighboring nations in West Africa, and young people are particularly vulnerable to being recruited by these extremist organizations to commit violence.

To comprehend and appreciate the degree of indulgent, reciprocal interactions and the advantages of tolerance and peaceful collaboration, we must communicate with one another to keep our communities together.

He praised the organizers for their yearly program to maintain peace and called the International Religious Freedom Summit essential to maintain peace and harmony in tharoundglobe.

The Christian-Muslim Forum for Dialogue and Mutual Relations, founded by Alhaji Osman, an eminent member of the National Peace Council, said that the Forum had been meeting with Muslim and Christian young leaders in communities where religious fanaticism was on the increase in Ghana.

The Forum aspires to disarm all forms of religious extremism while fostering communication, tolerance, and intercultural understanding in Ghana and abroad.
