Jesse Lingard could leave Nottingham Forest this week with two huge offers on the table

Jesse Lingard could leave Nottingham Forest this week, despite the closed Premier League transfer market, with two huge offers on the table.

Of the many signings Forest has made this season, Lingard was perhaps the most surprising when he left Manchester United last summer.

He has long been expected to join West Ham United, where he is on loan for six months at the end of the 2020/21 season, to great success.

But instead he chose Steve Cooper's side, signing a £200,000-a-week for a year deal at the City Ground, to help them stay in the Premier League.

Many felt Forest could not work with too many new signings, especially as they added more players in January, including Keylor Navas on loan from PSG. However, they have won 3 of their last 5 matches and are now 6 points away from the relegation zone, but Lingard has not made the impact in the squad he might have expected.

The 30-year-old is yet to score or assist in a goal and has started 11 of their 21 appearances so far.

According to Team Talk, this could well be his last appearance, with Fenerbahce and Besiktas interested in signing the attacking midfielder.

The report claims Forest is considering letting its best earner leave as early as November, and both deals could be very appealing to them.

While most of Europe, including the Premier League, closed the transfer market last week, the transfer market in Turkey will be open for a few more days. Whatever team he decides to join, Lingard is unlikely to get his hands on a Super Lig championship medal this season.

Fenerbahce is currently second in the table but is 9 points behind rival Galatasaray despite playing one game less.

He could play in Europe if he chooses them, with the club still in the Europa League, top of the table ahead of Rennes.

At Besiktas, the England international will be six points and two more than the top team, and will not be eligible for the European Cup.

He will be reunited with former national team teammate Dele Alli, who recently became man of the match and silenced critics after his previous poor form.
