Barcelona plans to reduce the number of season ticket holders by 70% in the upcoming season.

The Nou Camp is being renovated by the Blaugrana, who are currently eight points ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga standings.

Since 2016, the project has been in the works as Barca looks to update their home stadium, which was first constructed in 1957.

When it is finished in 2025, Barca want to raise the capacity from 99,000 to 110,000.

Less supporters will be permitted to attend games the next season, despite the fact that the goal is to allow more people to watch the Catalan team at home.

For the 2023–24 season, Barca will play at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys (formerly Estadio de Montjuic) due to construction taking place at the Nou Camp.

The stadium's current seating capacity is 55,962, which is 44,000 fewer than Espanyol's current home. The stadium previously hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics and once served as their home.

Only 25,000 season tickets will be made available, according to Barca's Institutional Vice-President Elena Fort, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Even if some sold their tickets to the broader public, it would still represent a staggering 70% decrease from the 83,000 holders.

Although it is unclear how Barca will decide who gets to keep their tickets and who loses them to general sale, some people will undoubtedly be dissatisfied.

We do know, however, that the costs will stay the same, even though customers will have the option to freeze their tickets for a year.

Real Madrid played their temporary home games at the 6,000-capacity Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium while the Santiago Bernabeu stadium was being renovated.
They faced a slightly different situation, though, as the COVID-19 epidemic was at its worst and no games were performed in secret.

There have been rumors that Barca will follow suit and play in the Johan Cruyff Stadium, which has 6,000 seats and hosts the club's women's matches.
