A 35 year old woman has found herself to deal with the Nigerian law after she was arrested on charges of luring teenage girls into prostitution to enrich herself in Delta state. The woman identified as Success James bagged multiple jail sentences on charges of luring these innocent teenage girls into prostitution.
The commissioner of women affairs and social welfare of the Anambra state identified as Mrs ify Obinabo on two days two Christmas on 2022 had crossed path with four girls between the ages of 13-15 years who were into prostitution at onitsha. Upon questioning and interrogating them, they confessed that, one Madam Success James lured them into the act with a promise package of securing them a job at a high restaurant in Agbor, Delta state.
Investigations quickly began and Madam success James was arrested and brought to court for trial with charges of children, s3xual and gender based violence. She was also charged with child labor, child stealing, child exploitation and abduction of children. The chief magistrate Genevieve Osakwe found Madam Success James guilty of all the above crimes leveled against her and was sentenced to jail of about 1 to four years.
Child prostitution is becoming one of the most illegal growing business in some parts of Nigeria. Children are promised huge sums of money and favor and hence lured into such which they later drop them once you contract a deadly diseases and the promises will not be fulfilled as well.
