On Thursday, February 9, the Porcupine Warriors made the news on their official social media platforms. Prior to the second round of league games, Kotoko strengthened their defense by hiring the seasoned defender.

By mutual termination in January, the seasoned central defender left the Phobians.

The 30-year-old defender played in over 90 matches for Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League during his time with the group.

Mohammed Alhassan assisted the Rainbow team in winning the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup in the 2020–21 season while playing for Samuel Boadu.

Additionally, he significantly aided in retaining the FA Cup title the following year.

The home national team of Ghana, which Mohammed Alhassan played for, defeated Benin and Nigeria to earn a spot in the CHAN tournament in Algeria in 2022.

The former Borussia Dortmund attacker stated in an interview that he never meant to retire from the Black Stars since it was a strong team with the ability to do something major for Ghana.

He continued by expressing regret for how he left the national team since he had big ambitions for it, but unforeseen events stopped him from rejoining the Black Stars.

He admitted to Oma Sports TV that "there were several reasons" why things didn't go as planned.
