Cristiano Ronaldo has at least four goals in a game eleven times in his career. Just give that some time to sink in.
The 38-year-old forward scored his 500th, 501st, 502nd, and 503rd league goals of his career against hapless Al Wehda, becoming the most paid athlete in the world when he signed with Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr in December.
There were 21 minutes remaining when the goal run started. Rudi Garcia's team deservedly took the lead when he took a few touches inside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful shot beyond the Al Wehda goalie. Then, he performed his famous SIU celebration to the pleasure of thousands of spectators inside King Abdulaziz Stadium. View the amazing scene that ensued after he scored below. With five minutes remaining in the first half, Ronaldo, who had troubled the Al Wehda defense the whole encounter on Thursday in Mecca, scored his second goal of the game, giving him three goals in as many games.
He didn't stop there, either. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner easily scored from the penalty spot to complete his 61st career hat-trick after Al Nassr was handed a penalty for handball. SEVENTY ONE.
But the former Real Madrid forward chose to stand near the corner flag and icily lock his hands with his eyes closed instead of celebrating with the famous mid-air pirouette.
According to Manchester United's official website, Ronaldo first performed the celebration against Everton in October. It is a "self-deprecating" reference to the position in which he sleeps when traveling to games. You won't believe this, but he wasn't finished there. When Ronaldo scored his fourth goal just after the hour mark, the King Abdulaziz Stadium's full house let out their biggest SUI yet.
The Al Nassr forward, who has now scored 824 goals in his career, may have been fortunate to get the rebound, but it was a night to remember for him.
