The 52-year-old not only knows how to spend money, but also how to deliver results on the field of play and win awards.

Madrid’s five options to replace Ancelotti

If Carlo Acelotti's departure is confirmed, the Real Madrid board will have to choose between five coaches who are likely to take his place:

Raul Gonzalez, Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.

We still don't know what will happen to Carlo Ancelotti's future at Real Madrid. The recent poor results have cast doubt on the coach's future ahead of next season.

The home and away match against Liverpool in the Champions League could decide the fate of the Italian, if lost, he could leave the team for the 2023-24 season.

Faced with this situation, the board started weighing different replacements and five big names appeared on the table. Four of them are 'in-house', the other have never been successful in Spain.

According to Relevo, Raul Gonzalez (Real Madrid academy coach), Alvaro Arbeloa (Madrid academy), Xabi Alonso (Bayer everkusen) and Zinedine Zidane are the first on the 'mere' list.

The fifth suitable person is none other than Thomas Tuchel, who has yet to return to work since leaving Chelsea and is likely to take the helm of a big team like Real Madrid in the near future. His CV puts him in the group as one of the favourites.

We'll first have to wait and see what happens to Ancelotti before we begin to draw conclusions about the future of the most recent UEFA Champions League winner.
