The first Seventh Day Adventist pastor to serve in the Ghana Police Service chaplaincy, Pastor Chief Inspector Samuel Danso Marfoh, has been welcomed by the Ghana Police Service.

The National Police Academy and Training School, Tesano in Accra, hosted the ceremony. Samuel Danso Marfoh, a pastor and chief inspector, was born in Asamankese, in the Eastern region, on January 2, 1981.

On February 17, 2006, he joined in the Ghana Police Service at the Regional Police Training School in the Upper East Region's Pwalugu-Bolgatanga.

Over the years, Pastor Chief Inspector Marfoh has worked at a variety of organisations, including the Rapid Response Unit in Wa, the Regional SWAT in Tema, the National SWAT at National Headquarters, the VIPPU at Castle/Jubilee House, the Regional Welfare Director, and the Police Hospital in Accra as a substantive chaplain.

Chief Inspector Marfoh has served in a number of church districts while serving as an ordained minister of the gospel for the Accra City Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He also played a key role in the establishment of the SDA Church Amantem- Oda East District and the SDA Church, Police Depot- Accra New Town District.

Additionally, he participated in several evangelical activities that resulted in the conversion of numerous people to the church. Leadership is a vocation to serve, according to DCOP, Very Rev. George Arthur, Chaplain General of the Ghana Police Service.

Chief Inspector Marfoh should view his appointment to the chaplaincy as a vocation to serve mankind, the SDA church, and the police department.

DCOP Arthur continued by saying that now is the perfect time to use all of the resources he has accumulated over the years to serve both God and humanity.

Chief Inspector Marfoh was honoured for becoming the first Adventist to be inducted into the chaplaincy of the Ghana Police Service Chaplaincy by Pastor Dr. Thomas Techie Ocean, head of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of the SDA congregations in Ghana.

As he serves the church, the service, and mankind, he was assured of the church's support and exhorted to be consistent in his faith.
