Chelsea believe they can make Joao Felix's loan move from Atletico Madrid permanent at the end of the season.

The Blues have already discussed a potential deal with Rogiblancos, who may be interested in cashing in when the transfer window opens next summer.

Graham Potter is said to have been impressed with Felix's recent performance and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the long run.

The Portugal international joined Chelsea last month after a row with Atletico boss Diego Simeone.

His Premier League career got off to a shaky start. He was presented with his card at Red against Fulham and was ruled out of his next three matches. This was a huge disappointment for blues fans, as he had been giving impressive performances up to that point.

But Felix made a subtle comeback with a goal against West Ham on Saturday, and Potter hopes he will continue to find goals for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old's current contract is a direct loan, with no option to purchase his contract. But according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea already have plans to make his stay permanent at the end of the season.

He reportedly said the Blues had discussed "post-loan plans" with Atlético when they agreed to loan Felix back in January. As a result, the club are reportedly "confident" in signing the Portuguese forward if he continues to demonstrate his qualities in the Premier League.

From Felix's perspective, especially given the rift between him and Simeone, he probably doesn't want to go back to Spain if he enjoys playing football in London.

It is believed Chelsea could demand a fee of over £100 million to maintain the service.

Chelsea have already signed Enzo Fernandes (£107m) and Mihailo Madrik (£88.5m) this season, and Potter is looking to build a team he can continue to dominate.

Felix certainly has the makings to play a key role for Bruce for years to come. After joining Atlético in 2019, the attacker has scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists in 131 appearances, contributing an impressive average of 0.4 goals per game.

Felix is ??also a relatively young player, so he has the potential to get even better as he settles into the Premier League.

However, given his hefty price tag, he hasn't scored a few more goals at Chelsea this season to justify a full signing.
