Alan Shearer has praised Erling Haaland after scoring his 26th Premier League goal this season in City's 3-1 win over Arsenal.



The 52-year-old Newcastle legend also insisted that he would 'be the first to shake hands' if he broke his 31-year record.


The 22-year-old Norwegian striker sealed victory for the defending champions as Arsenal slipped from the lead they had held since the third week of the season.


Speaking on Amazon Prime Video, the football expert said:

"I was going to congratulate him tonight and say he did a great job because it was only a matter of time before he won it."



“I will be the first to shake his hand. It will be fine. I really appreciate his attitude. I love his hunger and lust.
