Manchester City's Erling Haaland scored his 28th non-penalty kick of the season to help his side beat Arsenal 3-1, leveling Mohamed Salah's record at Liverpool.

Daniel Sturridge's best season in a Liverpool shirt was 2013/14, when the Red Devils were close to winning the Premier League.

That year, Sturridge scored 27 free goals, the most he had ever scored in any England campaign.

But in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday night, Erling Haaland scored 28 points, surpassing Sturridge's best in just over half a season.

Haaland, who has surpassed Romelu Lukaku (25 goals without penalties in 2016/17) and Sadio Mané (26 goals in 2018/19) in this ranking, scored Manchester City's third goal of the night to seal it. won and went on with his predecessor Sergio Aguero on the 28th. Data collected by A Visual Game on Twitter shows that Haaland only needs 2 more games against Wayne Rooney (2009/10), 3 more games to match Luis Suárez (2013/14) and 4 more games to match Thierry Henry (2003/04).

Alan Shearer, the Premier League's top scorer with 260 goals, has only five top spots (33 seasons 1995/96), alongside former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres (2007/08).

Anfield legend Robbie Fowler is more than 7 points (1995/96), 1 point behind Cristiano Ronaldo (2007/08).

But Haaland is still a long way from all-time leader Mohamed Salah, who has scored 43 goals without a penalty in 46 full games in his first season at Anfield.

Salah leads the Andy Cole rankings (41 seasons 1993/94), Harry Kane third (38 seasons 2017/18). The Norwegian will take the opportunity to make even more history, with 15 Premier League games still ahead and Manchester City still chasing the Champions League and FA Cup.

Salah also holds the record for most goals in 38 Premier League games with 32 goals, but Haaland is just six behind.
