A sad news coming in has a young woman who went to labour and never came out alive. According to sources, her result is as a result of delay caused by the doctors over payment alert delivery. The woman is identified as Shema’u Sani labaran. The sad incident occurred at the Abdullai wase specialist hospital in the Nassarawa local Government area of the Kano state.
According to sources, the husband of the deceased revealed that, the doctors ignored his wife for over three hours due to the delay in transfer made to the bank. The Kano state government warned warned marketers, supermarkets and filling stations to keep accepting the old naira notes and promised to revoke the license if any of the above business if report is made of them refusing the old naira notes.
According to residents if the area, upon all the advice of the Kano state government, some government old filling stations as well as supermarkets keeps rejecting the old naira notes including hospitals as well and the death of Shema’u laraban is a clear example as according to the husband of the deceased identified as Mallam Fancy, he took his wife to the hospital to deliver but the hospital rejected his old naira notes and didn’t attend to his wife.
Although he said he was asked to send the money through a bank account provided by the doctors on duty which he did but they still didn’t attend to his wife, their reason was to see a debit alert before they attend to her which the alert delayed.
"My wife walked into the hospital from our house, but before they received the alert, the pains had doubled and she was already ble€ding. Still, they didn't touch her until after three hours when they received the alert.
"After they admitted her, they discovered that she could not deliver by herself; that she must undergo an operation. I agreed and paid the money; still through transfer. It also delayed for an additional three hours before they received the alert and operated on my wife. Shockingly, the baby was brought out d€ad and the mother also dled "he said.
