After the Gunners' 3-1 loss to Manchester City, Mikel Arteta disclosed that Arsenal are yet to assess the extent of Thomas Partey's injury. He indicated that "we don’t know." It’s what happens; it’s part of football. There are no excuses. "I think Jorgi played a really good game, and we’ll have to assess Thomas to see how bad it is," said Arteta.

"Very late, very, very late," added Arteta.

According to the latest update from the Mirror newspaper UK in the early hours of today, Ghana International has discovered a muscular problem. According to the manager, "players pick up injuries, and unfortunately Thomas [Partey] felt something in his back muscle." He isn't available to play today. We don’t know. It’s what happens; it’s part of football. I think Jorge played a good game, and we have to assess Tommy's to see how bad it is.

At the pre-match conference before their early kickoff against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on Saturday, the Arsenal boss gave an update on the injury situation in his camp, in the case of Thomas Partey. Arteta was not certain whether Thomas will make the trip or not. He disclosed that the player is still suffering from muscle discomfort. "We have to assess him again today. He has some muscle discomfort, and we have to see how he is."

The Spanish manager revealed that Emile Rowe would have to pass a late fitness test before being added to the squad. "Emile will be training today, and if he’s fine, he’ll be in the squad." "Gabi is still not there," he added.

The injuries will be a big hit for Arsenal as they hope to reclaim the top spot after Manchester City beat them on Wednesday.

This is the second major injury for the 29-year-old this season.

Ghanaians and Arsenal fans are wishing him a speedy recovery.
