'I love this guy' - Manchester United fans praise Casemiro after Gavi moment vs Barcelona

Man United ace Casemiro has returned to action against Barcelona after missing the last two games due to suspension.

Manchester United fans were quick to congratulate Casemiro on his impressive display against Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday night, as the Brazilian once again showed solid form.

Erik ten Hag's men drew the Catalans 2-2 at Camp Nou in the first leg, although it looked as though the Red Devils would soon return to Old Trafford with a goal lead. Former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso opened the scoring in the 50th minute but in high form Marcus Rashford equalized two minutes later.

The Reds got their first goal of the clash in the 59th minute thanks to a Jules Kounde own own goal, but former Leeds United player Raphinha equalized 2-2 in the 76th minute. It is a result United will likely have to receive before the game starts, but Rashford sees it as a loss, and questions the controversial decision of the referee.

United have been boosted by the return of midfielder Casemiro, who has missed his last two Premier League games - both against Leeds - due to suspension. Ten Hag's men will also be without the Brazilian in this weekend's clash with Leicester City at Old Trafford, but he will be back from Sunday's game.

The 30-year-old delivered another solid performance against Barcelona for the first time since leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. During Thursday night's game, Casemiro was hit by Gavi, but instead of reacting, the United player just stared at his opponent, before headbutting his former Los Blancos colleague Raphael Varane. While Casemiro was somewhat at fault in Barcelona's equalizer - due to losing the ball in a ready-to-go situation - he was still praised by Red Devils fans on social media. Here's how some United fans reacted to the Brazilian's solid performance against the Catalan side...

After the game, Ten Hag admitted Casemiro should have been more aware of Barcelona's second goal but insisted he was not entirely responsible.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, the Dutchman said:

"That has nothing to do with courage. It was a mistake, especially on the training part."

He added:

"I think he could have done better. But what I'm talking about is a team. I am talking about training, training is useless. That's why the error occurs."
