FC Barcelona will be without key players like Pedri Gonzalez and Ousmane Dembele in the coming weeks.

The duo are expected to miss big matches like Man United (away), Copa Del Rey clash with Real Madrid and the league match against Valencia.

In this article, we take a look at how Xavi Hernandez was able to set up a starting lineup without these key players. Check it out below:

In a potential 4-3-3 formation, Marc Andre Ter Stegen will start in goal with a quartet of Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo and Alejandro Balde playing at full-back.

Sergio Busquets is expected to return in the next few days, so he can form a midfield trio with Kessie and Frenkie De Jong. Raphinha has been in good form lately so he will take the right wing position while Gavi and Lewandowski fill the remaining two positions up front.

After agreeing to a three-and-a-half-year deal with full-back Julian Araujo, Barcelona are looking to develop the Mexican-American and he will feature in the Barcelona Atletic squad led by Rafael Marquez.

The Mexican spoke about the player coming from the MLS side LA Galaxy, and clarified that he was not the one asking for the 21-year-old to come.

"It wasn't my request, but I'm glad he's coming," Marquez said.

"Julian was tracked before I arrived. Then, because they were tracking him, this situation happened and I'm glad he was able to stay with me for a while. “After that, he will move up to the first team so he can start to adapt and hopefully have a good career here.”

Barcelona's Atetic needs good results

Barcelona B currently has 34 points after 23 matches, with a record of winning 9, drawing 7 and losing 7, scoring 26 goals and conceding 27 goals.

This means that they are ranked 7th in Group 2 of the Primera Federacion, so the Mexican team needs to have good results after 3 games without knowing the smell of victory.

Araujo is expected to join the team during the week to make his Spanish football debut as soon as possible.

“I feel great, it's a dream come true,” Araujo said during his introductory press conference.

"Three or four years ago I was at the Barcelona academy in Arizona and now I'm signing here with the best club in the world. It's spectacular and I'm so proud

"For me, it's an honor to be the first player from this academy to arrive and I want to set an example for the next generations."
