EACH OF THE FOUR BOLD INDIVIDUAL PAINT OPTIONS FOR THE BMW XM REQUIRES ITS OWN DISTINCT MANUFACTURIN

There will be four new exterior colors for the BMW XM in 2023: Urban Green, Anglesey Green metallic, Petrol Mica metallic, and Sepia Metallic. All of them are provided by BMW Individual and will be available beginning in April. At the time of this writing, CarBuzz checked the BMW USA XM online configurator and found that none of these four colors were displayed there.

The four colors, according to the German automaker, "are as exclusive as they are expressive." Because of the SUV's "generous surfaces, dynamically flowing lines, and sharp edges," it was selected specifically for the XM. The Sepia Metallic Light Purple is exceptional, in our opinion.

The outside styling is questionable, yet the more we take a gander at it, the more it grows on us. Even though it appears better in person, it is still regarded as ugly by many, which is understandable. BMW says that each of these unique paint finishes is applied in a separate manufacturing process at the huge plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, which requires a lot of manual labor. We imagine that such exclusivity is expensive.

Although the price of the XM itself, including the $995 destination and handling fee, cannot be obtained for less than $159,995, the cost of a loaded XM is just under $170,000. A twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with an electric motor and 644 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque is available for that price.

From 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds The XM Red Label will arrive with even more power this fall. It has 735 horsepower and 735 pound-feet of torque, according to BMW. Although it has not been announced, this even more extreme XM is rumored to start around $185,000.

While neither amount is inexpensive, Americans ought to consider themselves fortunate when compared to the $330,000 starting price of the XM in China. On June 25, the XM Red Label may also compete against the all-electric Rivian R1T at the 2023 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, according to rumors.
