Someone paid 750,000 Swiss francs (approximately $814,000 USD) for the first 2024 Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate at auction, which raised more than $1,000 per horsepower. During the Action Innocence Charity Gala in Gstaad, Switzerland, Aston Martin offered the first of 499 vehicles, consisting of 300 coupes and 199 convertibles.
This particular model, a fixed-roof coupe, spectacularly sends off Aston's flagship V12 grand tourer. The DBS 770 uses a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 759 horsepower (770 metric horsepower) and 663 lb-ft of torque that is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The coupe model has a starting price of $387,600, which is quite a bit more than the $330,000 standard DBS. However, since this is the first example and was donated to the auction for charity, it brought in a fair bit more. That is, the winner received $1,072 per horsepower. The coupe goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, while the Volante takes 3.4 seconds, and its top speed is 211 mph.
That's a lot of money to spend on a car, even one as unique as this one. However, keep in mind that the entire run of 499 vehicles has already been sold out. This auction was the last chance to acquire a brand-new one, unless this buyer already owned one of the other examples. The car is finished in Ultramarine Black, has Trophy Silver accents, and has an interior that is Q by Aston Martin Cote d'Azur Blue.
Andreas Bareis, Regional President of Aston Martin in Europe, stated, "We are delighted to contribute to the Action Innocence Charity Gala, which has become one of the most important philanthropic events in the Gstaad resort, a key destination for Aston Martin and our customers in Europe." "As such an iconic model in Aston Martin's breath-taking product portfolio, it is wonderful to see this one-of-a-kind DBS 770 Ultimate model raise such significant funds for charity and generate such incredible excitement at the Gala."
The auction raised more than 4 million Swiss francs for charity all together. Mika, Penelope Cruz, and Christophe Lambert were among those who attended.
