After Web3, cryptocurrency, and the Metaverse during the preceding years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is predicted to overtake them as the next major tech investment subject in 2023. Of course, now that the era of ultra-loose monetary policy is over, all three are on hold.

The top AI stocks to watch are listed below.

Microsoft, first

The $1.9 trillion US juggernaut Microsoft is the leader on the list of the top AI stocks to watch since it was the first global computing power. Before to the ChatGPT launch, the corporation already had a close working relationship with OpenAI, and it is now investing $10 billion into the startup.

Microsoft will provide OpenAi access to its data centers to boost ChatGPT's computational power, and native search will benefit from this symbiotic partnership.

The alphabet

Despite currently holding 84% of the global search market share, nobody anticipates Google parent Alphabet to take it easy. Despite recently laying off thousands of employees, it’s launched its own rival — Bard — only to generate an embarrassing mistake at launch.

The chatbot operates on Google’s LaMDA programming, which has been under development since 2021. Although there have been complaints that Bard was launched too quickly to compete with ChatGPT, the trillion-dollar firm should soon resolve the problems.

It's important to note that many of Google's existing operations already use AI. Additionally, it is working on at least two other AI-focused projects: the Generative Language API, which focuses on coding, and DeepMind, which it purchased in 2014.

Tesla

Fully autonomous driving is the long-term goal, with the company planning to launch a robot taxi service soon. It’s also developing Optimus — a humanoid robot which Musk thinks could become more valuable than Tesla’s auto operations in time.

Baidu

China's equivalent of Google, Baidu, controls more than 75% of the search market there. Like Google, it is expanding its cloud business, but it also aims to infringe on Tesla's sphere of influence by creating the largest autonomous ride-hailing region in the world. Even if the company now provides this service in ten Chinese cities, it's important to be aware of the regulatory concerns related to Chinese platform stocks.

Baidu is also creating Ernie Bot, a response to ChatGPT and Bard. There are currently three competitors vying for market dominance in AI-powered internet search, with releases scheduled for March.
