Rapper Nipsey Hussle’s killer Eric Holder Jr has been sentenced to 60 years of life imprisonment on Wednesday the 22nd of February 2023. Eric Holder shot and killed Nipsey Hussle on 31st March 2019 outside his clothing line store “The Marathon”. The killer who was later identified as Eric holder shot the rapper 11 times and kicked him in the head before fleeing from the scene. Nipsey died on the spot from injuries sustained from the shooting.
Holder was found guilty of his crimes through surveillance tapes and other standby witnesses who caught him in the caught. He was convicted of the murder of the Grammy-nominated artist Nipsey Hussle as well as the attempted murder of other two men who were close by “The Marathon” shop after he released a series of bullets. It was later gathered that Eric Holder and Nipsey Hussle were both from the same famous group “Crips”, however, the two got into a series of arguments which made Eric Holder later take the life of the late rapper.
At the sentencing of Eric Holder, it was reported that the evidence provided against him was so overwhelming that he could not deny has CCTV Footage of him possessing a gun and heading towards Nipsey Hussle’s “THE MARATHON” shop was all recorded, witnesses who saw his face also testified. In the surveillance tapes, Eric was seen wearing an orange t-shirt, jeans, and pair of white sneakers. The footage caught his arrival, the shooting, and departure. His attorney could not even deny he wasn’t the shooter but asked jurors to find him guilty of the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.
A close friend of Nipsey Hussle who was alleged with the rapper before he died revealed that, he was grateful to the court for granting justice to his late friend, but he still wants to know why Holder would shoot Hussle over rumors he heard. Although Holder was found guilty, he was not qualified for the death penalty.
