Ghanaian musician FUSE ODG hits back at American-based Ghanaian comedian Michael Blankson over a recent comment he made regarding artists of the Ghana music industry. Michael Blankson took to his official Twitter handle and urged his fans and Ghanaians to help him identify all the artists in Ghana because, to him, he only knows of Stonebwoy, Shatta wale, Sarkodie, DBLACK, and the VGMA unsung artist Gambo.
What triggered this tweet by the comedian is not yet known, but most social media users are of the view that he was just tweeting it to get the attention of Ghanaians on Gambo whom he recently signed. Michael Blankson was recently applauded for his hard work in pushing Gambo after a video of himself and ex-NBA player Shaq ONeal jamming to Gambo’s song.
Michael Blankson in a recent interview revealed that Nigeria is the America of Africa when it comes to music because they have all the superstars considering the likes of Rema, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid, Kiss Daniel, Tekno, olamide, Ayra start, Tems and many more but Ghana can only boast of a few superstars and that is Stonebwoy, shatta wale, Sarkodie and Gambo. This tweet generated a lot of backlash from fans of various artists who couldn't make the list. Due to the backlashes, he quickly added a tweet and acknowledged Fuse ODG.
Fuse ODG replying to Michael’s claims of only four artists in Ghana tweeted;
“Mike...I don't know how you go on @Drinkchamps and say there are only 4 artists in Ghana. Not cool bro. I've personally introduced u to a lot of GH artists in GH! smh. Stop embarrassing us on these platforms...you're supposed to educate them”.
