A 19-year-old man was arrested for the murder of a woman on Wednesday the 22nd of February, 2023 in Florida. According to reports, the suspect after fleeing the scene returned to open fire at the reporters who were present at the scene covering the news and shot a 9-year-old girl as well in the process. 


The suspect identified as Keith Moses has been apprehended by the orange county office according to sheriff John Mina. The attack was said to have happened in pine Hills, a suburb of west Orlando in central Florida. A 20-year-old was murdered in cold blood by the arrested 19-year-old suspect Keith Moses. A news agency identified as Spectrum news arrived at the scene to cover the sad incident, at around 4 pm, Keith arrived with a loaded weapon and opened fire at the spectrum news officials, killing the reporter and wounding the cameraman in the process.


He then proceeded to a nearby house and again opened fire on a woman and her 9-year-old daughter. The victims were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, the spectrum news reporter and the 9-year-old girl lost their life. The Sheriff assured the general public the gunman had been arrested and will face trial soon. He further confirmed the suspect Keith Moses has a lengthy criminal history including gun charges, assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated battery charges.

"We have detained the person believed to be responsible for the murder this morning, as well as the shootings this afternoon,"



The suspect has  a "lengthy criminal

history" that included "gun charges, aggravated

battery and assault with a deadly weapon,

burglary and grand theft charges."


"As far as we know, he had no connection to the

reporters and no connection to the mother or the

9-year old, and we don't know why he entered

their home,"


"This is another tragic reminder that journalism is a dangerous business and that criminals and those that are the subject of reporting can become violent toward reporters who are doing their jobs,"



The Sheriff sent out condolence messages to families of the departed souls.


"Our hearts go out to the family of the journalist

killed today and the crew member injured in

Orange County, Florida, as well as the whole

Spectrum News team,"
