IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, THIS HYBRID HONDA CR-V DOES RESEMBLE A FORMULA ONE VEHICLE!

A new teaser for a race car based on the CR-V Hybrid has just been released by Honda. Yes, that is what you meant. A race car is being made out of a cheap crossover. The most recent video lets us hear what the car will sound like, while the previous teaser didn't reveal much.

Warning: This is a spoiler: It's excellent. The standard CR-V Hybrid's 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine was replaced by a more powerful unit from Honda.

Although little is known about the engine that will be used, it will produce approximately 800 horsepower. That's a lot more power than the production model's 204 horsepower, but we doubt this race car will get 43 mpg in the city. The CR-V Hybrid Racer sounds like a Formula One car, which is the best part. In addition, the shifts indicate that the vehicle is not equipped with the CR-V's stock wheels. The new teaser also reveals a few additional angles that were previously unknown. These include a front end with a huge splitter that looks more finished. The car now has a livery of red, blue, and white with the word "hybrid" written in light blue against a red Honda badge. The majority of the livery's back is red, though the dust from the proving grounds makes it hard to see.

The interior appears to have been completely stripped down to save weight, with no regard for comfort. This crossover was not designed for grocery shopping. Along with a racing steering wheel made of carbon fiber and a full roll cage, the comfortable leather chairs have been replaced by racing buckets. It appears that mechanical components occupy any storage space behind the front seats.

We can't wait to see the car in its entirety, and thankfully, the wait won't last long. On February 28, 2023, Honda will present the CR-V Hybrid Racer. Coverage of the exciting debut will be forthcoming.
