Arsenal are currently at the top of the 2022/23 Premier League table. When Arteta arrived at the club, he let some of the club's best players go as free agents. From these players, Arteta has brought in players who have helped the team climb to the top of the table this season. However, the former Arsenal players who left on a free basis are now doing very well in Europe's top 5 leagues this season.

Some of the great former Arsenal players include Lacazette, Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan and Mesuit Ozil. However, Laczette is Lyon's driving force in the 2022/23 season. The French striker has 18 goals and five assists. He is currently Lyon's top scorer this season and he is one of the top scorers in all competitions this season.

Moreso, Aubameyang, who was recently dropped from Chelsea's UEFA Champions League squad, has three goals and one assist in 18 games in all competitions this season. However, Mesut Ozil's contract has been terminated by the Turkish side this season and he has not contributed any goals. While Mkhitaryan has three goals and one assist in 30 games for Roma this season. It shows that if these players had remained at Arsenal, they could have helped the team earn more points.

Rashford and Co will worry about Pellegrini's superiority when Man Utd welcome Real Betis

Manchester United face Real Betis in the Europa League round of 16 - but they could be concerned about a notable stat involving opposition manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Pellegrini led Manchester City to a second Premier League title in 2014 and led the team to the semi-finals of the Champions League next season.

In the campaign in which they won the domestic title, City scored a club record of 151 goals in all competitions. Sergio Aguero has scored 28 goals in all competitions, while Yaya Toure has scored 20.

They have scored four or more goals in an astonishing 17 appearances, including a 7-0 thrashing of Norwich in the English top flight. City also beat United 4-0 and 3-1 that season.

So Red Devils fans can expect Pellegrini's Betis to score plenty of goals when the two teams go head to head next month. But the statistics show something completely different.

Pellegrini's unusual statistics appeared before the match Man Utd vs Betis

As announced by OptaJoe, Pellegrini has faced United four times in the European arena. Surprisingly, however, he has yet to concede a goal in those four games. The matches mentioned take place in two separate seasons. In the 2005/06 season, Pellegrini's Villarreal faced Sir Alex Ferguson's United in the Champions League group stage, both games ending 0-0.

The Spanish team leads the group, while United are at the bottom of the table.

Then, in the 2008/09 season, the two teams met again in the group stage of the Champions League, with scores also ending 0-0 in both encounters.

It is an indicator that Erik ten Hag's United will be keen to change this time against Betis, or face the prospect of a penalty shootout to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
