With 'Questions,' Fameye pays tribute to Christian Atsu.'
The death of Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu as a result of the recent earthquake in Turkiye has devastated many Ghanaians and the world at large.
Many people have paid glowing tributes to him since his death, including singer Fameye, who is doing so with a new song, Questions, recorded by sound engineer Liquid Beatz.
Atsu, 31, was discovered dead on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after an earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck Turkiye on February 6, 2023.
Fameye asks God in the song, which was released yesterday, February 22, why bad things happen to good people.
According to Fameye, the emotional song is not for partying but is a good time for people to reflect on life and how impactful their lives should be.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the Nothing I Get hitmaker described Christian Atsu's death as a painful one for which he had no choice but to write a song in his honor.
"At least, this song will console the family, his friends and the world for the wonderful things he did when he was alive. Indeed, with the death of Christian Atsu, the adage "a good person does not live long" makes more sense to me.
"I was one of the people who hoped he'd be found alive after the incident, but he didn't make it," he said.

When asked if he knew the Hatayspor forward personally, the 2022 VGMA Song Writer of the Year said he only knew him through Instagram but had heard and later read about his philanthropic endeavors.
"I never met him in person, but we connected on Instagram a few times. So many people died after the earthquake but why is everyone talking about Christian Atsu? I believe that is happening because he had a good heart and touched many lives.
“To family, close friends and associates, I wish them all the best. They should take heart during this trying times. It is not easy to lose a loved one”, he stated.
Atsu who played for Hatayspor before his tragic death was one of the star players from the Chelsea academy before heading to Türkiye.
Atsu had scored for Hatayspor Kulubu, their only goal in that game, the day before the disaster struck.
The 31-year-old was residing in an apartment in the Hatay city which suffered huge damages during the quake.
Atsu played 65 times for Ghana, scoring nine goals and was a member of the Black Star squad who featured at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Atsu’s mortal remains was flown into the country by Turkish airline on Sunday, February 19. The one week observation has been scheduled for Saturday, March 4.
