Real Madrid fans have known for a long time that Casemiro is one of the best players on the planet. And Manchester United fans must have realized that over the past six months or so, the Brazilian midfielder has completely transformed his team and now Erik ten Hag's side are like the title contenders from nowhere.
Manchester United also ended their half-decade wait for the title by winning the League Cup. And Casemiro was sure of it all, putting on a stellar performance and scoring the opening goal in the final.
It is safe to say that Manchester United will be delighted to splash out the cash to sign Casemiro this summer. That might be a big number for someone past his 30th birthday, but the Brazilian star deserves that money and more, and he's showing it off in the UK.
On the other hand, it seems that Casemiro is also impressed with the level of competition in the Premier League. As the official Manchester United website reports, he said in an exclusive TeamViewer video:
“Well, to be honest, it's different.
"Especially because of the different circumstances, like the intensity of the matches here.
"I'm not trying to underestimate La Liga, but the games here are much more difficult, there are more transitions.
Real Madrid fans won't be pleased with Casemiro's comments
Of course, many Real Madrid fans will not be pleased with Casemiro's comment that Premier League matches are much more difficult than La Liga. But then it's his opinion.
We have seen many stars from the Premier League and struggling in La Liga in the past. A few names that immediately come to mind in this regard are Philippe Coutinho and Eden Hazard.
Both are absolute superstars in the UK but have barely made their mark in Spain. So it definitely depends on the individual player. It's great to see Casemiro playing so well at Manchester United. And we can only wish him luck in the future.
