Arsenal bought an underdog from Real Madrid and turned him into world class, Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian midfielder has never scored or assisted in a Royal White shirt, but he has been extremely brilliant lately for Mikel Arteta's side, having been their captain and one of them. the main reasons that help them to top the Premier League rankings. against all odds and against all odds.
So it's not surprising that Arsenal are linked with more Real Madrid players. And the one who seemed to have been on their radar for a long time was Marco Asensio.
At least Asensio had a top-down campaign. There were times when he did very well, such as scoring in three of his previous five appearances in La Liga. But at the same time, there are times when he has been a big disappointment, like his recent performance against Atletico Madrid.
Thus, Asensio's future at Real Madrid is still being left open. He's clearly not a regular starter, but someone who definitely has a role to play on the team. Arsenal, on the other hand, have been asked to make a move for the Spaniard. Arsenal are reportedly set to sign a player from Real Madrid next summer
As reported by Football Insider, Gabriel Agbonlahor said:
That's exactly the kind of signature they needed.
"Asensio is not playing as much as he would like at the moment.
"But he's done a lot of good in a long time at Real Madrid. He breaks into tight spaces, he's a player with flair.
These are the qualities Arsenal will be looking for this summer. And sometimes you look at their bench and you feel like they could do with a couple of higher quality signings.
For me, he is perfect. If Arsenal want to continue their battle for the title every year, they need to add to this squad.
The signing of Asensio does not appear to be lacking in interest despite the fact that he is not a regular Real Madrid player. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with him recently.
It is also believed that Real Madrid want to offer him a new contract. But he feels he could get more playing time at other clubs. So maybe it all depends on Asensio and what he wants to do next.
