To settle the security issue in Bawku peacefully, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Naba Abugrago Azoka II, have reaffirmed their commitment.
At a meeting last Friday at Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo said that maintaining peace in Bawku remained a government priority.
Thus, he continued, the pertinent authorities will keep up their close collaboration with the Kusaug Traditional Authority to fulfill that goal.
The President also reaffirmed his pledge to immediately deal with any situation that would jeopardize the peace and security of the region by the State's laws.
The Bawku Naba was thanked by President Akufo-Addo for his leadership throughout the current deadlock and was reassured of the government's support.

As one Seidu Abagri was recently sworn in as the rival Chief of Bawku at Nalerigu on February 15, this year, tensions in the Bawku municipality reached a new high. This led to the gathering.
