Holon claims that its mover will enter US production toward the end of 2025.

A brand-new product known as Holon will showcase its fully electric, autonomous people mover at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show. It wasn't made to be a retail product that you could park in your garage, but rather a product that mobility companies could sell. Consequently, it lacks even a proper model name; it is simply referred to as the "mover" by the company.

The vehicle is described by the manufacturer as "the world's first autonomous mover built to automotive standards," has a maximum speed of 37 mph, and has a range of 180 miles.

The Benteler Group, a German holding company with interests in everything from automotive technology to steel, owns Holon. Holon hopes to gain the attention of companies that operate ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft with this.

Sincerely, we see some issues with this vehicle if it arrives in the United States. Even the smallest electric vehicles, like the Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf, have enough speed and range for the diverse American market, but this isn't meant to be a long-distance ferry.

Holon sees the bus as a tool for both ride-hailing services and regular city bus transportation. The low top speed of the Holon will not be a problem anywhere else, including airports and college campuses.

A "subtly offset seating arrangement" provides a sense of privacy inside the moving vehicle, which can accommodate up to 15 people. It also seems like the right time to mention that the transporter's Wall-E aesthetic is the work of Pininfarina, which has been involved with a number of EVs recently.

A test program will be conducted by the brand in Hamburg. It collaborates with Beep, a US-based autonomous mobility company, in the United States.

According to Holon, "for barrier-free access, electric double-wing doors with photo-electric sensors and an automatically extending ramp with a lowering function are included as standard." Comfort and safety are combined when wheelchairs are automatically secured inside the vehicle. "During the journey, Braille information and an audiovisual guide offer visually impaired passengers additional assistance."

SAE Level 4 will be used for the self-driving technology itself. As a result, no human intervention should ever be required. Additionally, the Holon is based on a modular design, which should allow for multiple variations. Perhaps our concerns regarding the vehicle's current top speed will be alleviated by this. The company claims that these can be used for both freight and passenger transport, with a focus on last-mile deliveries like Rivian's Amazon van.

By the end of 2025, Holon claims, production will begin in the United States. After that, as required, production will expand to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
