KUSASIS VOICE ASSOCIATION DONATES TO WIDNABA REFUGEES.

Thursday 09-02-2023

Kusaasi Voice Association today 9th February 2023 in the Bawku West District donated items which include; 3 bags of rice and second-hand clothing (foos) to refugees to support them in their daily living.   We want to sound a word of caution to the Bissas in Pusiga, they should better behave well, if what happen today’s night repeat it self again they won’t like the reactions of we the kusasis or if a blood of kusaa split or drop there. They will regret in their whole generation. They shouldn’t think they are dealing with only Pusiga kusasis but let me remind them, they are dealing with all kusasis.

Following terrorist attacks in some border communities in Burkina Faso, at least 4,000 Burkinabe Nationals have sought refuge in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

The refugees fled to Ghana after terrorists believed to be Jihadise attacked homes in Zoago, Bugre, and Zabre farming communities in Burkina Faso including police station and killed several people.

As a result, many people, particularly women and children have no homes, food, clothes and portable drinking water to drink.

Speaking in an interview with Zebs News, Naaba Ali Akutam, Chief of Widnaba, lamented that it is not only food that the refugees need but they also need good water to drink to stay healthy.

Mr.Daniel Anania Atampuba, NADMO coordinator for Bawku West District, on behalf of the Assembly thanked Kusaasi Voice Association for the kind gesture shown to refugees in Widnaba and called on other stakeholders, benevolent individuals, NGOs, etc to support.

Some refugees of the Widnaba community expressed their gratitude to the Kusaasi Voice Association.

However, Abanga Rockson, the Chairman of the Kusaasi Voice Association said "this is not the first time and it is not going to be the last too".

Residents in border communities such as Widnaba, soogo, Sapieliga, Kansoogo, and Googo in the Bawku West District as well as Bansi in Bunduri are where the refugees are settled.
