Man City announced plans to expand Etihad Stadium, it looks extremely impressive
Manchester City have revealed an expansion plan for the Etihad Stadium, which will see it become the fourth-largest stadium in the Premier League.
The city announced the expansion plan on Tuesday, saying the stadium's capacity will increase from the current 53,400 to more than 60,000.
Early designs suggest an additional 7,700 seats as well as a covered fan area.
On their website, City says:
"Manchester City is delighted to announce the concept of a premier fan experience and year-round entertainment and relaxation destination at Etihad Stadium, with fans and the local community invited. Share their feedback today through Sunday, March 26.
"The indoor City Square fan zone, with a capacity of 3,000 people and numerous dining outlets, new club shops, museums and hotels, all proposed to provide a wide range of activities more dynamic in matches and non-date matches.”
Following the proposed expansion, Etihad would become the fourth-largest stadium in the top flight behind Manchester United's Old Trafford, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and West Ham's London Stadium. The city has also committed to addressing stadium relocation measures to improve sustainability.
Manchester City have revealed ideas for an expansion of the massive Etihad Stadium that will have a capacity of over 60,000.
One of the designs shows an additional 7,700 seats being added to the Etihad's North Stand, along with a covered fan park.

The city said that if a building permit is submitted and approved, work will be implemented over a three-year period.
